During this period, everything that is poured out and absorbed by the child will become a basis and a sharp memory for the child. Matters related to dental health, if during this golden age children have formed memories, behaviors, habits and attitudes about how to care for teeth and mouth, then this attitude of life will be carried over later in adulthood, so that knowledge about how to live a clean and healthy life, including maintaining health Teeth need to be implanted in infancy. The purpose of this study was to design a risk factor simulator model that affects the oral and dental health of toddlers. This research method uses research and development methods (Research and Development (RnD)). Product trials were carried out on kindergarten children with a total of 20 children. Knowledge after the intervention was carried out on students who got 16 (80%) students with good criteria. The trial use was carried out to parents of kindergarten children with a total of 20 respondents. Knowledge after the intervention on parents of students found 18 (90%) of students' parents had good criteria. The results of statistical tests using Wilcoxon to determine the significance of changes in the pre-post knowledge variable obtained sig values of 0.000 and Z -3.742 which can be interpreted as meaningful results. The risk factor simulator model that affects oral and dental health in toddlers is effective in increasing the knowledge of preschool children (TK) and their parents.</p> Muhammad Fiqih Sabilillah, Nia Daniati Copyright (c) 2023 The Incisor (Indonesian Journal of Care's in Oral Health) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://theincisor.id/index.php/theincisor/article/view/67 Fri, 30 Jun 2023 00:00:00 +0000 PARENTAL MOTIVATION IN THE MAINTENANCE OF DENTAL AND ORAL HEALTH WITH THE INCIDENCE OF CARIES IN CHILDREN AGED 6-12 YEARS https://theincisor.id/index.php/theincisor/article/view/63 <p>Background: Children are the most vulnerable group to dental and oral health problems. The cause is that children's dietary habits towards high cariogenic foods and awareness about maintaining good and correct oral health are still lacking. Meanwhile, parents, especially mothers, are less concerned about the habit of taking care of children's teeth. The habit of children not taking care of teeth is due to the lack of motivation of mothers in children to do dental prevention, this habit can cause children to experience dental caries and the impact will be very large if dental prevention is not carried out early on in children.Purpose: to find out "the relationship between parental motivation in dental and oral prevention with the incidence of caries in children aged 6-12 years at SDN Sukawening 1 Sukawening District, Garut Regency". Method: Correlative descriptive research method with the research design used is cross sectional, the number of samples is 117 people, using the slovin formula. The measuring instruments used are questionnaires and DMF-T and def-t indices. Results: The results of the statistical test obtained a significance of 0.000 while the conditions for the hypothesis were accepted, namely &lt; 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between parental motivation in preventing children's dental and oral health with the incidence of caries in children aged 6-12 years at SDN Sukawening 1 Sukawening Garut Distric. Conclusion: There is a relationship between parental motivation and teeth in students in grades 1-6 of SDN 1 Sukawening, Garut district.
